‍Sharp Dentistry All-On-Four Implant: the ultimate alternative to traditional dentures and decayed teeth

Dentures have been used for centuries as a way to compensate for missing teeth. However, they fall into one of those cases where the solution creates a host of new concerns: lack of suction, pain, movement, facial collapse, falling out, bone loss, and deformities. It is understandable why, in many cases, people prefer not to wear anything at all!

What you need to know about Sharp Dentistry All-On-Four

The good news is that, with the development of dental implants, we now have a proven solution. Modern dental implants not only perfectly replace missing teeth: they bring strength, functionality, and longevity.

Dental implants are in fact considered the best alternative to natural teeth, restoring almost 100% of function while looking and feeling the same as natural teeth. In cases where all natural teeth have been missing or are about to be lost, we can now use a minimal number of implants to restore a complete set of teeth.

And this is where our All-On-Four comes in. This revolutionary dental implant replaces an entire arch of teeth using only 4 dental implants. The All-on-Four treatment has proven to be the least invasive way to replace a complete set of teeth. The implants are permanently fixed, replace missing teeth and gums, and do not cover the palate – so they feel and act like a complete set of natural teeth.

The four implants anchor the All-On-4 bridge in position, stimulate bone, and promote bone formation in these areas. This prevents the facial collapse associated with traditional dentures. Depending on the case, the All-On-Four treatment can restore all functions, from facial height to the way you bite; it can also improve speech and restore facial aesthetics. And it can do all this in a very short time.

Placement of implants in general, and All-on-Four in particular, don’t need sedation or general anesthesia. Usually this procedure is performed under local anesthesia.

Another important piece of information is that, to be successful, the procedure depends on good quality bone. Hence the need for a 3D bone scan for anyone considering dental implant treatment. This is necessary because, in some cases, additional dental implants may be required. There is no one-size-fits-all solution: each treatment must be custom designed for each individual case to ensure success.

But we are talking about ALL-ON-Four without actually explaining the meaning of the name. The term ALL-ON-FOUR refers to the replacement of ALL teeth ON FOUR dental implants, which serve as a support. And because the technique uses far fewer implants than traditional methods, recovery is easier, maintenance is simpler, and cleaning is greatly simplified.

It can not be repeated often enough: All-On-Four is ideal for people who are living with the discomfort of traditional dentures or decayed teeth

Going a little deeper: what are dental implants? They are small titanium devices inserted into the jawbone to support a tooth or a “bridge” of a tooth segment. The attachments form the basis for prosthetic tooth replacement. However, when replacing a complete set of teeth, often called total arch rehabilitation, either in the upper or lower jaws, or both, we do not need to place an implant under each tooth: we place 2 implants in the front of the arch and 2 in the back, and together they form the base needed to support the prosthesis. By placing the implants at a certain angle, we can avoid the parts of the jaw that are fragile. And most importantly, we avoid any kind of bone grafting.

To make things even clearer, let’s list the main advantages of All-On-Four:

-On the All-on-Four procedures the prosthesis upper and lower are delivered immediately after surgery (temporary prosthesis), which explains the term “teeth in a day”.

-The four titanium anchor points allow the dental sets to permanently attach to your mouth. This means they will not come loose or shift, as you may see with traditional dentures.

– Because there are only 4 anchor points as opposed to individual anchors throughout the mouth, there is less recovery time and pain associated with the procedure.

– In most cases, All-On-Four dental implants are a cheaper alternative to paying to replace each individual tooth.

– All-On-Four dental implants are a fantastic option for patients of all ages who wear traditional dentures or suffer from decayed teeth.

– Our laboratory processes are integrated into the structure of the All-On-Four Clinic.

How does the All-On-Four work at Sharp Dentistry?

Prior to treatment, our specialists will evaluate the current condition of your upper and lower teeth. From there, we will develop the options available to you and explain them as clearly as possible.

Sharp Dentistry specializes in upper and lower rehabilitation with All-On-Four implants, using fewer dental implants to support the prosthesis and also fewer components, which means greater versatility to design the most appropriate function and aesthetics. Just as importantly, there is also less cleaning, which helps simplify hygiene and maintenance over time.

This procedure is the most common treatment in our current practice for total arch rehabilitation and, when appropriate, is often suitable for all lower and most upper jaws.

Sharp Dentistry has an in-house laboratory and experienced periodontists and prosthodontists working together throughout the entire procedure. Because of this, surgical placement of the implants and delivery of the prosthesis can be done under one roof for a better experience. Patients no longer need to be referred (without the prosthesis) to different surgical offices for the restoration work to be completed..

The All-On-Four treatment concept

The All-On-Four concept involves a highly advanced surgical procedure that offers many advantages over older methods of tooth replacement and is remarkably successful when performed by experienced practitioners who have received special training.

But having a well-trained staff is not in itself sufficient. To facilitate immediate tooth replacement, there must also be a facility that can handle an immediate load with a specially equipped operating room for general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, as well as an integrated dental implant laboratory.

The cost of All-On-Four

The cost of replacing a complete set of upper or lower teeth varies depending on your specific treatment. We always try to provide our high quality product at the most affordable price, because we understand the financial burden that such a procedure can entail. We are also aware that the procedure may not be in everyone’s budget, but we can attest to the value our patients get from their final product. They leave our facility with a renewed sense of confidence, self-esteem and health. In addition, the All-On-Four method offers a more permanent solution, eliminating the need for maintenance costs down the road with follow-up appointments and procedures. We also offer financing options, through renowned financial institutions.
