We have in place strict Protocols to Maintain a Safe Environment for Our Patients & Staff.
Dear Patients,
I hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy and surviving this quarantine as best as you can. This is an unprecedented time in our history and we are all in this together trying to figure out, day by day, how to remain healthy.
Governor Ron DeSantis announced Monday, May 4th his plan for Florida’s recovery, which will allow for elective procedures to resume in a hospital ambulatory surgical center, office surgery center, dental office, orthodontic office, endodontic office or other health care practitioners’ office on Monday, May 4 statewide. This week we are already scheduling patients to start our office appointments Monday, May 11th, 2020. In the meantime if you are concerned you may have a dental infection or any other dental emergency, we are here to see you, so you may avoid going to an Emergency Room or Urgent Care Center.
Your health and safety is our top priority, therefore, our office is strictly following infection control recommendations and guidelines for COVID-19 provided by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these health agencies daily so that we are current on any new rulings or guidelines that may be issued. We make sure that our infection control procedures adhere to each agency’s recommendations for you to stay safe.
What to expect on your next visit:
We implemented the following procedures to help protect our patients and staff. We will strictly continue respecting social distance and other governments’ health authorities guidelines. In addition, during the week of May 11th, we will have a “soft opening” with a limited number of appointments to see the doctors and this will be increased accordingly. Our hygienists will see patients on a reduced schedule. Over the months, we will gradually ramp up our schedule to what we call the “new normal” will be. The schedule will be more spread out than what it used to in the past. Our principles are to maintain optimal safety while providing exemplary care!
- Telephone Pre-Appointment Screening Process
Will screen patients for symptoms of COVID-19 before the appointment and upon arrival. It will also include a patient screening form.PATIENTS SHOULD KEEP SOCIAL DISTANCE AND WEAR A MASK AT THE OFFICE.
- In-Office Patient Registration Procedures
Only 3 patients allowed in the waiting room. Front desk to wear a mask, and gown protection. Upon arrival, patients should disinfect hands with hand sanitizer provided by the office. Be prepared to have your temperature checked. Fill out COVID-19 written screening form.
- ALL STAFF WEAR MASK, GLOVES AND SURGICAL GOWN DURING ALL TIMES
Office staff members will be wiping off common areas all times with sanitizers.
- Patient, Doctors and Staff Protection
Wear surgical gown, mask, face shield and gloves during all the times. Because our office is Mercury Safe, we also provide additional safety precautions. Our high-speed suction equipment and other vacuum systems provide a barrier between the patient and staff, capturing and filtering saliva, droplets, and particles resulting from the dental procedure. These protocols are not only used for patients having their amalgam fillings removed but for all patients receiving dental treatment.
The protocols and safety precautions we are taking will also maximize your protection against other harmful viruses and bacterial infections. These include hepatitis, HIV, the flu, measles, mumps, rubella, and colds. So please know that coming to our office is safer and you have no reason to put off dental treatment that is so important to your overall health and your immune system. If you have any questions please contact our office and we look forward to seeing you soon.
- Lastly, patients should consider getting tested for Covid-19
After the call screening process if you are not feeling well, please reschedule the appointment (make sure to cancel within the 24-hour cancellation window!)
